Karnataka Tourism celebrated its triumphant participation in the India International Travel Mart (IITM) Bangalore 2024. Held from 26th July to 28th July at Hall No. A, Tripura Vasini, Palace Ground, Bengaluru. The event provided an exceptional platform for travel trade professionals to showcase the various tourism opportunities of the state, generating considerable interest and enthusiasm.
Karnataka Tourism has made the state very proud by winning two prestigious awards at IITM Bengaluru. The state has received the prestigious “Culinary Tourism Destination of the Year” award highlighting its rich and diverse culinary heritage. Additionally, Karnataka was honored with the “Host State” award, which recognizes its exceptional efforts in promoting tourism and providing unparalleled visitor experiences. This accolade further strengthens Karnataka’s position as a major tourist destination in India.
Karnataka’s participation in IITM showcased the state’s rich heritage, stunning landscapes and diverse experiences. The Karnataka Tourism Pavilion attracts a steady stream of visitors eager to explore the tourism potential of the state, with major attractions such as Mysore, Coorg, Hampi and coastal areas prominently featured.
Karnataka Tourism Delegation led by Dr. KV Rajendra, Director of Tourism and Managing Director of KSTDC, accompanied the key stakeholders. Their presence emphasizes the wide range of tourism experiences available in Karnataka. The pavilion also welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Jayanta Kumar Ray, IAS – Secretary (Tourism), Govt. of Puducherry and Shri. K. Lakshminarayan, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Govt. of Puducherry.
Throughout the programme, the Karnataka Tourism delegation held meaningful discussions with local tour operators, travel agents and other key stakeholders. The aim of these interactions was to strengthen existing relationships and create new partnerships, which ultimately boost tourism in Karnataka.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to network, forge new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with travel agents, tour operators and industry stakeholders. Karnataka Tourism’s focus on sustainable tourism and responsible travel practices resonates well with the industry, positioning the state as a destination of choice for eco-conscious travelers.
A successful partnership in IITM Bengaluru is expected to boost tourism flow to Karnataka from across the country. The Karnataka Tourism Department is committed to further promote the state as a destination to visit and will continue to participate in such platforms to showcase its opportunities.
