This Aeroplan® Credit Card From Chase is a value cobranded airline credit card that offers cardholders ongoing value for a low annual fee.
Right now, the card is possibly offering its best bonus ever; However, it comes with some caveats, which we’ll explore below.
And before you assume the Aeroplan Card has nothing to offer if you don’t live in Canada, understand that this loyalty program can be very valuable.
Let’s look at the current Aeroplan card sign-up bonus and analyze its value.
Aeroplan credit card welcome offer
Right now, $95-per-year Aeroplan Credit Card Offers:
- 70,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first three months; And
- 40% bonus points on purchases for 40 days on spending up to $40,000 for first-time applicants by July 17
A typical offer on this card is 50,000-60,000 points, so anything 70,000 points and above is worth considering. (The previous highest bonus we’ve seen on this card was 100,000 points.)
TPG’s July 2024 valuation has Aeroplan points at 1.5 cents, making the base 70,000 Aeroplan points worth $1,050.
The interesting part of the current offer is the 40% limited time bonus. If you max out the 3-points-per-dollar categories on Air Canada, grocery or dining purchases, you can potentially earn up to an additional 48,000 bonus points (on top of the 120,000 points you’d normally earn on these purchases). are you .

More realistically, you’ll earn 16,000 additional points with a 40% bonus on other purchases, which typically earns 1 point per dollar spent.
It’s worth noting that while you may be approved immediately, it will take 7-10 days to receive your card in the mail. Given that this is a MasterCard, Chase doesn’t allow you to add this card to a digital wallet immediately — you have to wait for the physical card to arrive in your mailbox.
So, if it takes 10 days to receive your card, that will reduce the 40-day bonus deadline to 30 days, because the clock starts when you get approved for the card, not when it arrives in the mail. So, this offer is best for people who can make one or more big purchases in a short period of time.
Also note that to be eligible for the limited-time 40% bonus offer, you must apply for the Aeroplan Card for the first time. I had this card when it launched in late 2021. Even if I cancel it after one year, that is, I no longer have the card, I will not be eligible for this limited-time bonus.
Additionally, this card is affected by Chase’s 5/24 rule, which means you won’t be approved if you’ve been approved for five or more cards in the past 24 months, regardless of the issuer they came from.
But if you’re eligible, check out our ideas to help you quickly meet the minimum spending requirement, including tax, insurance, rent or mortgage prepayments to help you maximize this bonus. You can also use this card for a down payment on a new car or to buy points or miles.
