Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card

This Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card Marriott’s only business card is currently available to new applicants.

Annual fee: $125 (see rates and fees)

Welcome offer: Earn five free night rewards after you use your new card to make $8,000 in eligible purchases within the first six months of card membership. Redemption level up to 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points for each bonus free night award, at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels. Resort fees may apply. Offer ends on July 10.

Does it matter?

This welcome offer is worth up to $2,125, according to our July 2024 evaluation, the best in this card’s history.

With this card, you’ll earn automatic Gold Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy and up to 7% discount on eligible bookings made directly with Marriott at participating properties and 4 points per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide.

The card also comes with an annual 15 Elite Night Credit (which can be stacked with the Marriott Bonvoy Consumer Card) and an annual free night award (worth up to 35,000 points). Additionally, you can earn a second free night (worth up to 35,000 points) after $60,000 in purchases on your card in a calendar year.

Marriott’s change to dynamic pricing may make it difficult to redeem these rewards. Still, you should be able to find a participating property that can cover your annual fee (and then some), because our data suggests there’s still a lot of value in the program.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card

This Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card Marriott has a top-tier credit card.

Annual fee: $650 (see rates and fees)

Welcome offer: Earn 95,000 points after you use your new card to make $6,000 in purchases in the first six months of card membership.

Does it matter?

95,000 Bonvoy points are worth $808, according to TPG’s July 2024 valuation, which is a solid offer based on the card’s history.

The card also offers valuable benefits, such as automatic Bonvoy Platinum Elite status, an annual free night award (worth up to 85,000 points; some hotels have a resort fee), $300 in annual statement credits for eligible individuals (up to $25 per month) in restaurant purchases worldwide , Priority Pass lounge access and 25 Elite qualifying night credits per year. Registration is required for select benefits.

Remember that Marriott has dynamic pricing, so you may need to work harder to find a property to use a free night. However, you can top up Marriott Certificates using up to 15,000 points, meaning you can use your free night award topped up with bonus points to book a night worth up to 100,000 points.

Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card

This Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card Bonvoy is a mid-tier card from American Express.

Annual fee: $250 (see rates and fees)

Welcome offer: Earn 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after using your card to spend $5,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership.

TPG’s July 2024 valuation has 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy points at $723, a decent offer for this card’s history.

The card also offers mid-tier benefits, including complimentary Gold Elite status, solid earning rates at Marriott properties, and Elite Night Credit. However, it lacks many of the perks you might expect from a mid-tier card.

For example, you must spend $15,000 in a calendar year to earn a free night (worth up to 50,000 points; some hotels have a resort fee). Other Marriott cards with lower annual fees include similar benefits without the spending requirement. Registration is required for select benefits.

Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card

This The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card is one of two mid-tier Bonvoy cards from Chase.

Annual fee: $95

Welcome offer: Earn three free night rewards (each night worth up to 50,000 points) after spending $3,000 in the first three months of account opening. Some hotels have a resort fee.

TPG’s July 2024 evaluation includes three free night awards, 150,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, topped out at $1,275, one of the best offers based on the card’s history.

If you’re a loyal frequent traveler to Marriott, this is a great card to add to your wallet without a big price tag. Boundless, with automatic Bonvoy Silver status and 15 elite qualifying nights per year. You’ll also earn one credit toward the next level of Elite status for every $5,000 you spend, and you can reach Gold Elite status by spending $35,000 on the card in a calendar year.

Perhaps the most valuable benefit is the annual free night award (worth up to 35,000 points) on each account anniversary — though Marriott’s lack of an award chart may hinder your ability to use this award.

Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card

This The Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card is Chase’s entry-level card for Bonvoy enthusiasts.

Annual fee: $0

Welcome offer: Earn 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after using your card to spend $1,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening.

Does it matter?

According to TPG’s July 2024 valuation, 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points are worth $255. We’ve seen welcome offers as high as 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points based on previous offer history, so we recommend waiting until a higher offer comes around.

You’ll earn 3 points per dollar at Marriott properties, 2 points per dollar on all other travel purchases (ends July 10) and 1 point per dollar everywhere else.

It also has no foreign transaction fees.

This is a solid set of benefits for a card with no annual fee. However, frequent Marriott guests may do better with a card that offers more benefits during each stay.

Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful Credit Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful Credit Card is one of two mid-tier Bonvoy cards from Chase.

While American Express introduces Bevy, this card comes from Chase. The two cards have mostly similar benefits, meaning the perks that come with this card struggle to justify its $250 annual fee. However, the welcome bonus may be interesting for you.

Can you apply for more than one Marriott Card offer?

If multiple Marriott cards intrigue you, you might actually get one Open more than one Marriott card — some TPG staff have two or three. It can make sense to take advantage of the annual anniversary award night and stack the 15-25 elite nights awarded with both the individual and small-business Marriott cards.

Although there are a total of six Marriott cards available to new applicants, the available cards have several restrictions on who can receive the welcome offer — especially since the cards are issued by both Amex and Chase.

Note that these restrictions are in addition to Chase’s 5/24 rule (which applies to new applicants for the Bonvoy Boundless, Bonvoy Bold and Bonvoy Bountiful cards) and Amex’s one-bonus-per-lifetime rule (which applies to the Bonvoy Brilliant, Bonvoy Business and Bonvoy Bevy Card).

Make sure you are eligible for these offers before applying.

Bottom line

The Marriott Card has slots in our A list of the top hotel credit cards, thanks to the value they provide each year. Add in some existing bonuses, and you have a compelling reason to consider getting a Marriott card.
