The Australian city of Gold Coast is about to get even brighter – at least, for the world of Hyatt fanatics – when the first Andaz opens in the coastal city next year.
Scheduled for a mid-2025 opening, Andaz Gold Coast will be set within a $1.3 billion mixed-use development known as The Star Gold Coast, created in a tie-up between The Star Entertainment Group, Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (the parent company). Rosewood Hotels).
Located on Broadbeach Island, the resort will offer 202 rooms and suites, three-pronged food and beverage outlets, a pool deck with a sixth-floor bar, and a beach club with cabanas and dining. Additionally, the brand’s signature Andaz Lounge will be open throughout the day for guests to grab a drink or snack.
The architectural design for the Andaz Gold Coast is by Australian firm DBI Architects, while Hackem, the creative force behind the W Melbourne, handles the project’s interior design. The latter will be centered around a theme “inspired by the breathtaking change of sunlight that unfolds daily on the Gold Coast”.
“Hyatt has had a brand presence in Australia for more than 40 years, and we are excited to expand our luxury, lifestyle and leisure offerings in desirable destinations such as the Gold Coast,” said David Udell, Hyatt’s Group President Asia Pacific. In a statement. “The resort will complement our existing portfolio of 10 hotels in Australia under five distinct brands, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place.”
Australia may have to wait until next year for the Andaz to debut, but in the US, all eyes are on Miami Beach, Florida, where the former Confidant is set to reopen as the Andaz in December 2024. Once open, the Andaz will be Miami Beach. A completely reimagined concept with 287 rooms, two pools and all-new food and beverage concepts from celebrity chef Jose Andres.
