Luxury hotel brand Rosewood has a picture-perfect new property outside Salzburg, Austria, one of the best places to visit in July 2024.
Called Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, this hotel in a restored 15th-century castle offers travelers to Austria a great place to stay while enjoying the brand’s sense of unmistakable luxury – all set against the beauty of the Austrian Alps and Lake Fuschl.
Travelers will find 98 guest rooms, including 42 suites and six chalets, at Rosewood Schloss Füssel, a hunting lodge built in 1461 for the Prince Archbishops of Salzburg. Fuschl has played home to many dignitaries, royals and celebrities, and is also where Mozart went to compose music.
Today, hotel accommodations offer large windows with lakeside views, rain showers and marble bathrooms, heated floors, art by Austrian artists, a wide selection of pillows, and other high-end amenities like Nespresso machines.
For more space, chalets range from one to three bedrooms, with lake views, private outdoor spaces, fireplaces and private saunas.
Dining at this Rosewood is “a culinary journey through authentic Salzkammergut cuisine,” claims the hotel’s website, as the Schloss Restaurant offers an experimental take on classic Austrian food, such as Austrian blood sausage (blunzen) gyoza with sauerkraut, plus wine. Collection. Over 1,400 varieties.
Additionally, guests can relax by the fireplace surrounded by hand-painted walls by Austrian painter Marie Hartig at the Schloss Bar, or sip pastries and tea in the Sissy tessalon, inspired by the hotel’s part in the 1950s “Sissy” film trilogy.
Other places to dine, sip or gather include the Vinotheque, a wine bar welcoming guests, hikers and everyone in between; The terrace offers lake views and an “Alpine-to-the-Sea” menu; And the Schloss Fuschl See Club, open to guests and non-guests, features cabana rentals, water views, plenty of seafood and live music.
Somewhere as beautiful as Fushal Lake calls for a little self-reflection and self-pampering — and that’s where Asaya Spa comes in. The spa offers an extensive treatment menu, indoor and outdoor pools, hair salon and gym. Also, guests can participate in multi-day wellness tours that can help with physical detox or improved sleep.
