United Airlines is expanding its economy-class wine options with the introduction of a new varietal.

The Chicago-based carrier announced Monday that Tuesday, Oct. 1, it will offer a new wine menu in the economy cabin on domestic flights. The airline will introduce rosé and brut bubble wine from popular brands Just Enough Wine and Maker Wine.

Just Enough Wines will also introduce new red and white selections on United flights.

The wine will be served in 250-milliliter cans – equivalent to about one and a half glasses of wine – and dispensed with plastic cups for sipping. Wine will be available for purchase for $12 on every mainline flight offering drink service.

Members of United’s top-tier Premier 1K and invitation-only global services will enjoy a free drink whenever seated in economy.

“Our new economy wine list is offering travelers greater variety and better quality. After the overwhelmingly positive response to the addition of rosé to United Polaris Business Class and the continued hype for sparkling options, we are thrilled to now offer rosé and higher quality.” United’s Managing Director of Hospitality Aaron The Brute Bubbles option for our economy passengers offers a more premium experience onboard, McMillan said. programs, in a statement.

So far this year, United has served more than 20 million glasses of wine system-wide, more than 1.5 times the number of servings of beer or spirits. This number includes Polaris and Premium Plus cabins, where unlimited spirits are available for free.
