Luxury travelers heading to the Bay Area can expect a major glow-up The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay Debuting this month.

The luxury resort on Wednesday unveiled the results of an extensive, multimillion-dollar renovation of its guest rooms, suites, spa and restaurants. The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay first opened in 2001 on a point overlooking the bay and evokes a Scottish Highlands-meets-Northern California vibe. It’s also a TPG favorite for the Marriott Bonvoy Points splurge.

The renovation, undertaken by the creative team at hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates, is intended to complement the resort’s natural surroundings and lean toward California coastal luxury.

“We are thrilled to see our vision of ‘Redesigning Elegance’ come to life this year,” Matthew Rivere, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, said in a statement. “Together with our world-renowned design partner, our iconic property will undoubtedly be a beacon of luxury and style for decades to come.”

The design of the revamped guest rooms and suites is meant to be a subtle nod to the property features that guests have come to expect from a stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. Textured fabrics reflect the surrounding sand dunes, while leather accents symbolize the local area’s equestrian heritage. You’ll also find plaid accents that evoke some of those Scottish vibes throughout the property.

The Ritz-Carlton’s fine dining restaurant, Navio, has also undergone a makeover, with redesigned table settings and updated flooring to complement the space’s maritime ambiance and vaulted ceilings. The Conservatory, Navio’s sister restaurant, also received an update to its mid-century aesthetic—and both dining venues retain their oceanfront views.

The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay now has renovated changing rooms and relaxation rooms. The spa’s treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, cold plunge and whirlpool have also been updated. In conjunction with the property refresh, the resort is planning to offer pop-up partnerships with wine and spirits brands, exclusive dinners emphasizing local ingredients and wines, curated in-room Ritz kids and pet amenities and other guest experiences.
