Cathay Pacific adds route from Hong Kong to Dallas Fort Worth
Cathay Pacific will launch a new route from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), the airline said on Tuesday.
The Hong Kong-based airline will begin service between its home hub and DFW on April 24, 2025, with four flights per week in each direction.
Flight CX897 will depart DFW on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11:55 p.m., arriving in Hong Kong at 5:05 a.m. two days later (as the flight crosses the international date line). Flights to Dallas — CX898 — will depart from Hong Kong at 4:05pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving the same day at 5:55pm.
Cathay will operate the route with its flagship Airbus A350-1000 jet. The plane has 46 lie-flat business-class seats in a reverse herringbone configuration. While it doesn’t feature the airline’s new Aria business-class suite — which is being introduced on the Boeing 777-300ER and, eventually, the 777-9 — it does. A comfortable option And one of the better implementations of this type of configuration.
The plane also has 32 premium economy seats and 256 seats in the regular economy cabin.
Stretch out: We got a sneak peek at Cathay Pacific’s exciting new premium economy seats.

Cathay is known for its quality on-board service and offers connections beyond Hong Kong to most parts of Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The airline is a member of the Oneworld alliance with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, so the new route offers a new potential redemption opportunity for US-based travelers, whether based in DFW or connecting from another city served by a Oneworld carrier.
