International Convention Center Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has received prestigious recognition for its exceptional selection of premium local wines at the 2024 NSW Sommelier’s Wine List Awards. The honor also highlights the expertise of ICC Sydney’s Food and Beverage Manager, Sommelier William Wilson.

Presented at New South Wales (NSW) Parliament House, the award was decided by Dan Richards, editor of News for the Food Lovers and president of the NSW Béliage of Chain des Rotisseurs, and author and editor Dom Sweeney. This accolade underlines ICC Sydney’s unwavering commitment to the NSW local wine industry, as evidenced by their exclusive offering of 100% local NSW wines throughout the venue.

Since its launch in December 2016, ICC Sydney has distributed more than 400,000 bottles of local wine at various events and invested more than A$65 million in NSW food and wine producers. The dedication was celebrated with the 2024 Best NSW Wine List by Caterer or Functions Venue category award.

William Wilson has been instrumental in establishing the venue’s all-NSW wine list, working with ICC Sydney CEO and Group Director – Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC) Geoff Donaghy and ICC Sydney Director of Culinary Services, Lynelle Peck. Wilson’s extensive industry connections and in-depth knowledge of local wines have contributed significantly to the venue’s support for regional suppliers, leading to A$13 million in direct spend with NSW food and beverage suppliers in 2023/24.

Geoff Donaghy emphasized ICC Sydney’s passionate commitment to uplifting regional communities through its acclaimed food and beverage philosophy, highlighting the venue’s dedication to supporting and promoting local producers.

“We are honored to present our 100% NSW wine list to our delegates on a global stage, showcasing the best our state has to offer.” Mr. Donaghy said.

Food and Beverage Manager and Sommelier, William Wilson, said he was proud to celebrate the local NSW wine industry at ICC Sydney’s premier venues.

“We are proud to have been announced as a winner in the 2024 NSW Sommelier’s Wine List Awards out of a total of 43 finalists, including restaurants, bars and clubs across NSW, who showcase fantastic wine lists.
