Few things in life are better than a free cookie — especially the iconic chocolate chip cookies offered at DoubleTree by Hilton.

And this Sunday, you don’t even have to be a guest to get it. To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day on Aug. 4, DoubleTree by Hilton is giving away regular and allergy-friendly chocolate chip cookies to anyone who stops by at U.S. locations.

You read that right: Whether you’re a hotel guest or simply staying near a DoubleTree, the cookie is yours.

“Our chocolate chip cookie is a proud tradition, symbolizing the warm welcome and comfortable stay that the brand is known for,” Shawn McAteer, brand leader for DoubleTree by Hilton, said in a statement. “To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day this year we’re excited to share our signature welcoming signs outside of our guests, synonymous with the caring hospitality guests receive with every visit.”

Cookies, which have been around since 1986, are very much a part of the DoubleTree experience; According to Hilton, the brand gives away more than 20 million annually. To make the cookies even more inclusive, DoubleTree introduced a new version that’s made in a gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan and allergen-free facility.

Some even say that the cookies are out of this world. In fact, in 2019, the DoubleTree cookie became the first food to be baked in space, thanks to astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Nowadays, you can find that cookie at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia, by Steven F. Can be seen at Udwar-Hazy Centre.

While there are nearly 400 US DoubleTree by Hilton locations where you can pick up a free cookie, Hilton has also shared the recipe so you can make it at home.
