A small number of Amex cards just increased their Clear Plus statement credit to $199, effective Thursday. This means you can continue to enjoy the Clear Plus membership at no extra cost, even if the new bundle with TSA PreCheck is launched at that price.

Increase Clear Plus credit for select Amex cards

If you have Platinum Card® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card® from American ExpressHilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, American Express® Green Card, American Express Corporate Platinum Card® or American Express’ Centurion Card, you’ll now enjoy an increased statement credit of $199 for Clear Plus membership.

Clear usually costs $189 annually and TSA PreCheck starts at $78 for a five-year membership, although you can get two memberships for a discounted price of $199.95. To receive that price, travelers who pre-enroll in TSA PreCheck must complete the process within 14 days.
