Taman Safari Indonesia, a leading amusement and conservation park, is making its mark in the Middle East, specifically targeting Riyadh on July 28, 2024 and Jeddah on July 30, 2024. The initiative comes as Saudi Arabia continues to show interest in Indonesia’s tourism, with the number of Middle Eastern tourists expected to reach 68% of pre-pandemic levels in 2023. Direct flights between Saudi Arabia and several Indonesian cities further boost this effort, with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy aiming to attract 139,842 Saudi visitors in 2024.
“Travelers to Saudi Arabia tend to travel in large family groups with strong purchasing power and a preference for luxury and comfortable travel experiences. They look for places that offer natural beauty, comfort and ease of worship. Therefore, Taman Safari Indonesia is the main destination offered,” said Alexander Zulkarnain, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Taman Safari Indonesia.
TSI Bogor features wildlife in natural habitats and family-friendly accommodations, making it a top choice for Saudi travelers. TSI Bali blends safari experiences with rich cultural heritage and stunning beaches, highlighted by the new Varuna attraction. TSI Solo offers a glimpse into Javanese history and culture with family-focused amenities. TSI Batang offers tranquil natural beauty, ideal for large families looking for relaxation. TSI Prigen combines safari adventures with mountain scenery and modern amenities, ensuring comfort and enjoyment for visitors.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has set a target of 139,842 Saudi visitors in 2024. “To achieve the target of Saudi tourists, we have implemented various strategic efforts and collaborations with Emirates Airline. Additionally, this activity takes advantage of the momentum after the 2024 Hajj season,” said Cesep Rukendi, Director of Regional Tourism Marketing II, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Backed by a strategic approach and the support of the Indonesian government, Taman Safari Indonesia is confident in its ability to increase visitor numbers, increase its market share and enhance brand recognition in Saudi Arabia. The initiative aims to positively impact Indonesian tourism and strengthen Taman Safari Indonesia’s reputation as a destination of choice for Saudi tourists.
