Incheon Pentaport Rock The festival introduces ‘Pentaport Showcase,’ A new program to expand its global reach and attract international talent.
KB Kookmin will be held at Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival 2024, in collaboration with Card Star Shop. Songdo Moonlight Festival Park In Incheon, South Korea, from 2nd to 4th August. The event will feature an exciting lineup, incl Jack White, Turnstile, Jannabee, Kim Gordon, Sepultura, Girl In Red, Say So Neon, Ride, Silica Gel, And DAY6.
Celebrating its 19th year, Pentaport Rock Festival 2024 will feature performances by 58 top artists and host the event as such. “Penta Super Rookie” And “Pentaport Live Club Party.” Held at the Songdo Moonlight Festival Park in Incheon, South Korea from August 2 to 4, the festival continues to promote rock talent and celebrate live music.
Launched in 2013, “Penta Super Rookie” has played a crucial role in supporting up-and-coming rock bands. Each year, six finalists get the chance to perform on the Pentaport stage, receive cash prizes, and the grand prize winner gets the chance to perform at international festivals. Notable past winners include JANNABI, THE FIX, SE SO NEON, The Vane, The Poles, and Dabda, all of whom have garnered significant acclaim on the festival stage. This year’s competition saw 522 teams, with DAYANGSUNG bagging the grand prize, ASADAL winning gold, Mohr winning silver and Lif, OurR and Far East Asian Tigers bagging bronze prizes.
A decade after “Penta Super Rookie” debuted in 2014, a wonderful moment this year is the return of JANNABI as a headliner.
Pentaport, hosted by Incheon City and co-organized by Incheon Tourism Organization and Gyeonggi Ilbo, is recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as part of the Global Festival Support Project and 2024-2025 Culture Tourism Festival.
The “Pentaport Showcase” aims to support the international aspirations of Korean artists by inviting industry experts from the Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Philippines and Taiwan region. Representatives from Warner Music Japan, Sony Music Entertainment Japan and other major labels will be in attendance.
The festival also includes an exchange program with AXEAN Festival and Fireball Fest, featuring performances. Malaysian band “Golden Mammoth” and Taiwan’s “Fire EX.” Additionally, Artist Lounge will host a networking program for artists and industry leaders, hosted by “SXSWSYDNEY”, scheduled to be held from October 14, 2024 in Sydney, Australia.
“Pentaport Live Club Party” highlights various artists and connects with Incheon’s vibrant live club scene. Running six times in six live clubs until August 20, the event showcases each venue’s unique vibe and live music culture.
