Last week, Tourism Ireland teamed up with four tourism enterprises from Ireland to attend the Global Travel Marketplace (GTM) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This annual event lasts three days and features a range of opportunities for personal one-on-one appointments and networking.
The program is designed to facilitate direct connections between Irish tourism companies and leading travel consultants in North America. This setup provides an invaluable platform for Ireland’s representatives to showcase their offerings to influential figures in the travel industry.
By participating in GTM, these Irish businesses ensure that Ireland remains a top recommendation among travel advisors, and enhances its appeal as a destination. This strategic presence aims to attract more tourists to the island by leveraging the expertise and reach of consultants.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America said:“Our presence at this year’s GTM in Florida was another great platform to inspire influential North American travel professionals about the island of Ireland and the many great things to see and do. Events like this provide Tourism Ireland and our partners with a valuable opportunity to connect and network with travel professionals who have the potential to bring valuable tourists to the island, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2024 and beyond.
Sarah Hamilton of Tourism Ireland, Caitriona O’Mahony of Lirath Estate, Matthew Lepisto representing JackTravel, Patrice Lavery of Hastings Hotels, Biddy Hughes of Westport Estate and Debbie Moran of Felt Ireland were all present at the GTM event in Florida.
