The 10th edition of the Malaysian Cultural and Food Festival is back at Galaxy Macau™, running from 18-31 July. Transforming East Square into a tropical oasis, this 14-day extravaganza offers an immersive experience in Malaysia’s vibrant cuisine and culture. This year’s event not only celebrates Malaysia’s culinary traditions and cultural heritage but also the 50th anniversary of diplomatic friendship between China and Malaysia. Highlights include a Malaysian dinner buffet at the Oasis at the Galaxy Hotel and a Malaysian-themed marketplace at East Square, featuring 5,000 kilograms of spices and over 5 tons of high-quality durians imported directly to Macau. Enthusiasts of Malaysian flavors can indulge in a diverse selection of traditional dishes and delights.
Mr. Roger Leinhardt, Executive Vice President – Hospitality of Galaxy Macau, extended a warm welcome during the opening ceremony of the festival.
The historical ties between Macau and Malaysia run deep. Be it the Malaysian Chinese culinary influence or the Malaysian-style street snacks readily available in Macau, these elements underscore the close connection and cultural exchange between the two regions. “This year’s Malaysian Food Festival is a flagship event organized by Galaxy Macau in support of the Macau SAR Government’s efforts to deepen cross-sector integration and strengthen the synergy between ‘Tourism + Gastronomy’. I believe the deep bond between Macau and Malaysia will shine brightly here, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious cuisine while celebrating the deep connection between the two places. We are committed to deepen cross-sector integration under the Macau SAR Government’s ‘Tourism+’ framework in the future.” Roger Leinhard said.
After the opening ceremony, guests proceeded to the Oasis, where they enjoyed a Malaysian buffet amidst the vibrant sights, sounds and aromas that the country is famous for.
