The famous Scenic World of the Blue Mountains, a family-owned tourist attraction located in Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia, about 100 kilometers west of Sydney, is home to four attractions, the Scenic Railway, Skyway, Walkway and Cableway, a 2.4-kilometre high boardwalk through ancient rainforest, recently certified as an operator. Ecotourism Australia has announced its new induction into the Hall of Fame for achieving 20 years.
Since the year 1945, Scenic World has been welcoming visitors with open arms to its corner of the Blue Mountains and this introduction is a salute to the work achieved in terms of sustainability space since its inception.
Besides, for its services as a tourist attraction, Scenic World has also successfully achieved carbon neutral certification. Climate Active certification reflects the fact that Scenic World has made changes to the way choices and experiences are offered to ensure that all carbon emissions are accounted for and balanced.
This reflects the fact that visitors can have a lot of fun and enjoyment without creating crags of CO2 while riding the world’s tallest railway, the famous skyway and the steepest cable car in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as walking under the rainforest canopy.
