Accor India and InterGlobe Hotels, in partnership with HOPE Foundation and InterGlobe Foundation, celebrated the graduation of students of the 2023 and 2024 cohorts at a special function held at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity. The event marked the successful completion of studies in Nursing Assistant, Retail and Hospitality sectors by more than 130 participants, who were each awarded NSDC certificates. The initiative is part of a broader corporate social responsibility effort aimed at equipping young individuals from underprivileged communities with employable skills.
The collaboration between Accor India and HOPE Foundation began in 2012 with the establishment of the ‘Accor Center of HOPE’, which is committed to helping people facing social and economic challenges. This alliance was further enhanced by the support of InterGlobe Hotels and the InterGlobe Foundation, which expanded the program’s effectiveness and scope. Together, these institutions offer a comprehensive training program that includes three months of academic learning and three months of practical, hands-on experience. The program culminates in an NSDC certificate, which provides participants with a pathway to sustainable employment.
The impact of these training initiatives has been significant, with over 220 young individuals from challenging backgrounds changing their lives, and over 150 of them gaining employment. This success demonstrates the program’s effectiveness in breaking down social and economic barriers and promoting personal and professional development.
Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer Asia, PME at Accor said, “We are extremely proud of these young individuals who have shown immense dedication and perseverance. This program is a testament to our commitment to foster an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
President and CEO of InterGlobe Hotels Mr. J.B. Singh added, “We are proud to see our skill development initiatives empowering youth and transforming lives. By providing access to high-quality and job-oriented training programs, we empower students with the tools they need to confidently enter the workforce and contribute meaningfully to our nation’s economic and social infrastructure. We are committed to giving back to our community through our CSR initiatives and will continue to evolve and enhance the program to meet the changing demands of the job market and foster a new generation of skilled professionals.”
