Amazon Prime Day is back, so it’s a great time to get discounts on things you’ll use throughout the year.
Sure, it’s a good idea to buy big-ticket items like luggage and tech, but you don’t want to overlook the smaller, easily forgotten items like the FuelRods portable charger. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World or Disneyland (or a variety of other places where it’s easy to interchange them, including airports), you’ll probably want to take a Fuelroad.
FuelRods are definitely not the best external power sources out there, but they are compact and really easy to use at places like Disney where you can swap them out for free.
In parks, FuelRods are $30 each, but right now, you can get a two-pack for $27.99 thanks to the Amazon Prime Day sale. Paying about $14 each (instead of $30 each in the park) isn’t a bad deal at all.

Fuelroads come in handy when visiting a theme park — you’ll need a power source to recharge your phone, check ride wait times, order food and book your Lightning Lane. There are many power banks on the market that you can buy and bring, but when in Disney, the FuelRod is an easy solution that doesn’t require much preparation or add extra weight to carry around.

You can replace this pocket-sized battery booster at machines around the park. Once you buy a FuelRod, you can exchange it for free at Disney as often as you like. Place your drain in the machine, and it’s fully charged ready to go.
Each FuelRod typically provides a few hours of charging time. So, a pack of two is perfect to buy and throw in your bag as a backup option, in case you forget to bring a more robust external battery or if it runs out of juice.

While exchanging your FuelRods is free at machines located in Disney parks, it will cost you $3 at Universal Studios. That makes them a little less attractive to use there. However, buying FuelRods for less than paying the $30 fee at the park is still a better deal if you think you’ll use them during your vacation.
