What is the Disney Dining Plan?
With the Disney Dining Plan, you can prepay for a specified number of meals and snacks for your Disney World vacation and receive an allocation of meal and snack “credits” to use during your stay. The total number of credits depends on the length of your trip. For example, if you stay three nights and buy a dining plan, you’ll get three days of meals and breakfast to redeem. You do not need to redeem a set number of meals and snacks each day; You can use it anytime during your stay.

Is the Free Disney Dining Plan Worth It?
Whether the Disney dining plan is worth paying out of pocket depends on how much you want to spend on food and how much you like to eat on vacation. However, when you can get a dining plan for free, it’s pretty much a no-brainer that you’re getting a good deal. A family of four (two adults and two children) can save more than $700 over a three-night stay with this deal if you max out your dining credits (more on that in a moment).
There are rare instances where you can save more with the right hotel discount, which is one of the many reasons we recommend working with an official Disney vacation planner. They can review your trip details and determine which special offers will save you the most money.

Other guests prefer the “game” aspect of trying to squeeze maximum value out of Disney dining plans. It is entirely possible to “break-even” by ordering food and drink items that cost more than the value of your Disney Dining Credit.

- If you’re visiting during one of Epcot’s seasonal festivals, your breakfast credit is eligible for most food items from festival booths.
- Don’t let your credit go to waste. If you don’t use all of your credit, you’re essentially leaving money on the table. You can track your credits in the My Disney Experience app to make sure you use them all during your visit.
- To save even more money in addition to the free Disney dining offers, you can pay for your hotel and ticket package with Disney gift cards or using one of TPG’s favorite credit cards for Disney vacations.
